Update, September 2026. This post was published ahead of the competition, which was held during SEC Football Media Days from July 20 to 23, 2026. It is kept here as a record of what we took to the stage. The product references below have been corrected to match what Varsity Stack does today.
It's official: Varsity Stack is competing in the SEC StartUp competition. It is the Southeastern Conference's pitch competition for businesses built by student athletes. For a product built from the ground up for athletes, there's no stage that fits us better, and we're going after it.
Where it aired: The competition was hosted in Birmingham, Alabama and aired on SEC Network during SEC Football Media Days, July 20 to 23, 2026.
What is the SEC StartUp competition?
The SEC StartUp competition grows the conference's long support for student business owners, with one twist: it's built for student athletes. Each year it highlights companies that athletes are building while they balance the demands of their sport. Then it puts them in front of judges and a national audience.
It's a fitting venue for us. The athletes pitching aren't guessing about discipline, performance or recovery. They live it every day in training and on the field, and so do the people who built Varsity Stack.
Why did we build Varsity Stack?
Varsity Stack exists because the people building it know what it's like to train at a high level with no trustworthy way to manage supplements. Most supplement apps are built for the general fitness market. They offer generic stacks, unchecked products and no connection to how you actually train.
We built something different: supplement intelligence for athletes and teams. Varsity Stack recommends products built around your sport, position, training block and goals, checks a product before you buy it, and helps you stay consistent.
Recommendations carry NSF Certified for Sport, Informed Sport or BSCG Certified Drug Free certification. Certification lowers the risk that what you take costs you your eligibility (your right to compete), though it does not remove it.
Standing in front of judges in a conference defined by competition forces you to answer the hardest question cleanly: why does this need to exist, and why now? For us, the answer is simple. Athletes and teams deserve a better, smarter way to take supplements.
Who is Varsity Stack for?
The SEC StartUp competition is about student athletes, but Varsity Stack is for all athletes. We're built for every level, from high school and college to the pros and anyone who trains like one.
Think of the freshman trying to make the varsity roster, the scholarship athlete protecting their eligibility, the pro managing a long season and the weekend athlete who loves to train. They all face the same problem: too many products, not enough trustworthy guidance, and real consequences for getting it wrong.
Every feature exists because athletes asked for it. And it's free. It works the same whether you're chasing a state title or a contract.
How does it work for a whole roster?
The SEC is the perfect room to make one more point. Supplements aren't just an individual athlete problem. They're a program problem.
A single positive test from a contaminated product can undo a season. "We didn't know what they were taking" is not an answer any staff wants to give. That's why Varsity Stack is also a team platform, built to give coaching staffs a live view of their entire roster.
Staff see every athlete's stack and whether each product is certified, with no guessing or asking around.
From high school programs to pro rosters, it's supplement management for an entire roster without adding staff. It's the part of the story we're most excited to put in front of the conference.
Check your supplements with Varsity Stack
Whatever a pitch does or doesn't do, the product is the point, and it is live on the App Store and Google Play right now. Scan a product before you buy to see if it is certified, then add it to your stack so you and your staff know what you take.
For coaches, sports dietitians and athletic trainers: the team dashboard shows every athlete's stack and whether each product is certified, so staff can review what athletes take.

Varsity Stack does not laboratory test supplements, and certification lowers risk without removing it.
